Antique Collection Of Precious Coral Buddha Figurines
Where to begin?
First, this is obviously not jewelry. But to the serious collector of finely carved Coral it is an exceptional find. Too, for it bears pointing out, the smaller Buddha Figurine would make an exceptional pendant.
We offer here a set of 3 Antique Buddha figurines in various poses of standing and sitting. These figurines are carved from natural, untreated, Red Coral from the Western Pacific Ocean by a master carver who, with incredible skill, incorporated the character of natural coral into the carvings, instead of carving it away. The effect is stunning. Truly a case of not being able to appreciate the quality of these figurines from their photographs. Much better, to a different level of appreciation, in person.
These figurines were acquired as a set. From our clients we are told that these have been in the family since before 1950. The family Kupuna says they are much older.
We have been asked by several of our Coral collectors to break-up the set but for the time being we hope to pass to a collector who will provide a home to all three.
The tallest Standing Buddha measures approximately 78mm in height an weighs 70.3 grams. The shorter Standing Buddha measures 44mm in height and weighs 44.8 grams. The Seated Buddha measures 34mm in height and weights 41.7 grams.
