1904 Elgin 14K Model 280 Railroad Grade Pocket Watch
An heirloom waiting to happen. Gorgeous Elgin Railroad Grade Pocket Watch. We tested it all and find that the case, cover, and back are all 14K. The Crown, Stem, and Loop are gold-filled. Still, that's a lot of gold.
We've attached the particulars of this watch serial number from the Pocket Watch Database. It is a Grade 280, Size 16s, 17 jewel pocket watch of which there were a total of 8000 made. It has a weight of 84.5 grams. It runs superbly and based upon our anecdotal (non-scientific) measurement it seem to be accurate to within 30 seconds a week. It could perhaps be better adjusted by your Horologist.
The condition speaks for itself and the price is conservative for this fine watch.
Note: All timepieces have been inspected and adjusted to accurately keep their best time. Unfortunately, we experience from time to time instances where the postal services, despite our very best packaging to protect from shock, manages a delivery where time will have to be professionally adjusted. This is usually an inexpensive adjustment, and we have priced to accommodate that modest cost assuming it may be necessary. Should this present an issue, we happily accept returns when notified with 14 days.
