Vintage 14K Basket Mounted High-Fire Australian Opal - Honolulu, Hawaii
Gorgeous! So happy to have found this beautiful natural Australian solid Opal.
We're going to go with Vintage on this, although could be Antique. Estate says it goes back "at least" to the early 1950s, and possibly earlier. The styling of this ring is certainly consistent with that time period.
And the setting is beautiful-beautiful. An elevated modified basket multi-prong setting hosts and accents the fabulously large bright-brilliant Opal with exceptional Play of Color. Measuring approximately 13.5mm x 8.5mm it's a size that can't escape notice. Very fine movement within the stone, excellent facing, and high-fire. Nice! And did we mention that Opal is the Birthstone for October?
This lovely, lovely ring is a size 5.5 (5 1/2) and has a weight of 3.46 grams.
