Vintage Opal and Red Spinel Ring in 14K Yellow Gold
Coming to us from an O'ahu, Hawai'i Estate is this simply stunning vintage Opal and Red Spinel Ring. Quality stacked atop quality.
The setting of 14K Yellow Gold begins with a simple undecorated shank, but then joins to the gemstone setting and that's where simple ends. The body of the setting is a so very lovely pierced basket of repeating half-moons and chevrons that provides a beautiful base for the gemstone. Inset into the basket is a solid, large, and very translucent Australian White Opal with dazzling Play-of-Color. The prong-set Opal measures a large 17mm x 14mm. Surrounding the Opal are 22 round-cut prong-set Red Spinel of ~ 2mm each. This complimentary combination is gorgeous. The face of the ring measures 21mm x 18mm.
This very, very fine ring is a size 5.25 (5 1/4) and has a weight of ~5.8 grams.
