Vintage 14k Cultured Pearl Station Bracelet
We love Pearls. Each time we meet with a client and they bring out Pearls it's game over. We can't resist. Probably a generational thing. Watched too many episodes of The Donna Reed Show.
We are told by our client that this bracelet was acquired in Okinawa in the very early 1960s while living there. It is an interesting style of station bracelet (so called because the Pearls are fixed, or stationed, at equidistant points) because in addition to the larger Cultured Pearl it has a Seed Pearl positioned on either side. A charming touch that only adds to its presentation. The Pearls are joined by 14k Yellow Gold wire and each section of three Pearls secured with a loop-and-twist join. The bracelet is in what we are told is its original box from Sanyo Jewelry in Okinawa.
This Cultured Pearls, most likely Akoya Pearls, measure ~6mm each, and the Akoya Seed Pearls each measures ~2.5mm each. There are 10 6mm Pearls and 20 Seed Pearls. The bracelet measures 7 inches in length and has a weight of 4.8 grams.
