The disc is Jet Black Nephrite Jade. Beautifully polished front and back. Overlaid on the front is a small tree crafted in 14K Yellow Gold, as is the bail. Inset into the tree are several multi-color pear-shaped Jadeite and Nephrite Cabochons. Beneath the tree are two leaves which appear to have fallen from the tree. Symbolism? Could be. In the Chinese Culture Falling Leaves is a Metaphor. It implies that all creatures have an old home to return to even after a long sojourn in distant parts. It expresses nostalgia for one’s native place. We can't say that is what was meant here, but it's possible.
The pendant measures ~52mm in diameter. That's BIG. It has a weight of ~26 grams - heavy, too. All in all it is a grand, beautiful pendant that you'll come back to again and again for those occasions where you want all eyes to be on you.
