Vintage Corded Icy Jade "Mouse in the Garden" Pendant
To our eyes this is an exceptional piece of Icy Jade. Very, very translucent - nearly transparent as can be seen in the photo. Icy Jadeite at its best. And while categorized as Icy Jade, some may also know this shading of Icy Jade as Water or Watery Jade.
This is a whimsical carving of a mouse peeking through garden vegetables and blossoms. The carving is crisp and under close examination we do not find any noteworthy flaws. The carving was beautifully executed and preserved the reddish coloration at top to enhance and provide contrast. It is a corded piece, with double-pull end with Jadeite Bead accents. The pendant measures ~31mm x 22mm.
We had considered removing the cord and suspending from a gold chain but just didn't have the heart to disturb its original design. Which, by the way, we find just perfect as-is.
