Type-A Jadeite Phoenix Bird Pendant
We recently acquired numerous Type A (Natural - no dyes, no infusions) Jadeite Pendants from a long-time collector. This is one of those pieces.
Fine Jade is highly prized in most Asian Cultures, and is known as "The Stone of Heaven." Pieces are passed down to favored children over generations. We are both fortunate and pleased to offer this selection to our clients.
This finely carved pendant feature a Phoenix Bird atop clouds. The Phoenix is a very important in Chinese symbolism. The phoenix alone is a symbol of joy and peace, it heralds the coming of auspicious days. This pendant has been finely executed in Type-A Jadeite with a Moss-in-Snow coloration. The carver's treatment of the stone, carving the green above while leaving the background nearly transparent, makes this a highly desirable piece. It measures 46mm x 23mm x 4mm with a weight of 8.3 grams.
