Vintage Honey-Yellow Jadeite "Year of the Tiger" Pendant
This is actually a beautiful Honey-Yellow, natural, untreated, Jadeite Pendant with a prowling Tiger as its theme. We added the "Year of the Tiger" part, as would anyone born in a Year of the Tiger Year. The reverse is carved in a beautiful Lotus Blossom pattern. So was your birth year 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, or 1998? These were years of the Tiger in the Chinese Zodiac. Of course, you can certainly enjoy this pendant even if you were born in the year of the Bunny Rabbit.
This pendant is an older vintage piece from a local prominent estate who are downsizing. In our negotiations this piece of Jadeite was on the table for sale and then off the table not for sale several times. We're happy the owner decided to allow it back into the marketplace to be found by its next owner.
The color is beautiful and evenly distributed front and back. A VERY good piece of Jadeite. It measures 43mm x 20mm so it is a good sized piece. It also has a good weight of 20 grams. The owner said she wore it as an enhancer for her South Sea Pearls - hence the 14K enhancer bail on the pendant. That will just afford the new owner more flexibility for wear. The enhancer bail has a security catch, as shown.
