Antique Chinese Solid 24K Gold Ruby And Jadeite Ring
This antique ring comes from the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or the very early Republic of China (1912-1949) Period. We believe latter Qing. The setting is entirely 24K Gold. It is inset with two bezel mounted Apple Green Jadeite Cabochons each measuring approximately 6mm each. These Jadeite Cabs flank a central Burmese Ruby weighing approximately 1 Carat, perhaps a bit more as it was conservatively measured in its setting. The ruby is clear and only very slight inclusions. It captures and holds light with the characteristic and desirable Ruby glow.
This ring is size 6.25 (6 1/4). With the malleability of 24K gold, it could be enlarged without cutting by a qualified jewelry. The ring has a weight of 7.43 grams.
