Gorgeous Vintage Lapis Lazuli Openwork Ring in 14K
Such an enchanting ring! Vintage from the early to mid 1960s. We were torn between calling the setting Custom Openwork or Custom Brutalist - there's an argument for both styles. But the more "woodsy" feel of the ring gave Custom Openwork a distinct edge. Too, when one of our staff commented that it looked like two Robin's Eggs in a nest we were sold. And such a charming comment.
But suffice that regardless of designer's intentions this custom made ring is a result of excellent craftsmanship. The detail is evident and is seen in each photograph. Trust us - friends won't have anything close.
This custom 14k setting hosts two oval cabochons of Lapis Lazuli, each measuring approximately 7x4mm each. They are both of good color, saturation, and even finish with virtually no traces of pyrite. In fact, we had to look closely to make the call between Lapis and Sodalite. But Lapis it is. This ring is a size 5.5 (5 1/2) and weighs a goodly 4.39 grams.
