Antique 14K Gold Cigar or Cigarette Cutter
What a prestigious and downright show-off gentleman's accouterment! Goes without saying that it's highly unlikely your friends will have anything like it. As depicted in the photos, it is in exceptionally fine condition.
This 14K Gold Cigar or Cigarette Cutter (because of its size we're not sure which) dates to the early 1900s. We know this from the estate's accounting, and that it is marked "R.S. Pat Dec 9, 02 14k." The cutter is hand-engraved in exquisite detail on front and back. It is also engraved on the front with a monogram, as shown, and "Nov 25th 1862 - 1912." The estate was unable to explain the significance of those dates, but it speaks volumes to its age.
This Gold cutter measures 53mm x 24mm closed, and 64mm x 24mm opened. The cutter hole has a diameter of approximately 9mm. It has a very hefty weight of 10.13 grams. It will arrive in the silken holder, not original to the cutter, in which acquired, and the box as shown which is suitable for presentation and storage.
