A beautiful vintage Opal Ring from the early 80s.
There are several forms of Opal to be found worldwide. White Opal is very popular, Crystal Opal even moreso. And that's what we have here. A gorgeous Natural Crystal Opal. These Opals are known for their translucency and fire, and both are present in this stone. The Marquise Cut particularly accents the color. It is set into a raised mounting of two level to further bring the stone to focus. Excellent craftsmanship.
The Natural Crystal Opal measures approximately 11mm x 5mm x 2.25mm. A goodly sized stone that shows well on the hand. It is a size 6.5 (6 1/2) and has a weight of 3.49 grams.
