Antique 14K Hand Carved Rose Cameo Ring
As lovely as can be. Rare? Possibly. Unusual? Absolutely. This Italian made and hand carved Cameo Ring was carved and purchased in Naples. It was acquired in the 1980s while the previous owners were living there. After these many years in business we are still surprised when a beautiful piece of jewelry such as this is purchased, and then stored away - seemingly forgotten. Such was the case here. The ring is in perfect, virtually unused, condition.
The motif is a single rose in full bloom. Most cameos are images of people, but not so here. So a bit uncommon, a bit rare. It is beautifully carved in high relief. The conch shell cameo is bezel mounted in a 14K yellow gold setting. The ring size is 5.5 (5 1/2). The cameo itself measures 15mm x 11mm.
