Mid-Century Sage Green Watery Jadeite 18K Ring Honolulu, Hawaii
If you're a connoisseur of fine Jade you'll want to look closely at this ring. If you just love Jade for its history, culture, symbolism, and beauty, you'll want to look closely at this ring.
Translucent Jadeite is called by several terms: Icy Jade, Crystal Jade, Glassy Jade, and Water or Watery Jade. Translucent refers to the quality of the stone to allow light to pass through. This is a beautiful specimen of translucent Watery Jadeite with a Sage Green color and tone. This is Type A Natural Jadeite with no dyes, corrections, or infusions. This ring dates to the 1950s or a bit earlier from the Estate's recollection. That dating is consistent with the fashion and styling of this ring.
The ring has an 18K custom setting featuring sprays of leaves of each shoulder, and filigree cut-outs on the base. The face of the ring measures 15.5mm North to South, and 11mm East to West. This ring is a size 7.75 (7 3/4) and it has a total weight of 4.78 grams.
We sometimes check the internet for similar rings when offering an especially fine specimen, and we found a similar Mid-Century Sage Green Watery Jade Ring at 1st Dibs. Originally offered at over 5x our pricing. We have added the 1st Dibs photo for cost comparison. Too, as different monitors and different cameras resolve colors differently, this ring is very, very close in color and translucency to the one offered at 1st Dibs, although ours may show a bit darker in shading.
