Antique Lady's Honey-Gold Natural Cat's Eyes Ring Honolulu, Hawaii
Lovely Lady's Cat's Eye Ring from a local O'ahu Estate.
Just soooo pretty!
The setting is a hand-crafted chain-filigree design. It hosts a natural Cat's Eye that has beautiful color and color balance. We call this color dispersion Honey-Gold, although you'll find it called by other names as well. This is an Antique Ring, with our best estimate being 1940'ish. Maybe earlier. The estate could only tell us that it was found in an old jewelry box as they were cleaning out stored items. We're happy they did. The ring is marked 'BT' which is a trademark first used by Jewelry Maker B. Tanenbaum of New York in 1936.
This beauty had been well loved and frequently worn. The underside showed (past tense) literally years and years of accumulated soap and soil. Too, the stone was showing some wear and had lost much of its lustre. Our local Gemologist provided the "just right" amount of polishing of the stone to restore it to its original beauty. After a good cleaning, it now looks as-new. No issues at all!
The ring is a size 7.5 (7 1/2). The face of the ring measures 20mm x 15mm and the Cat's Eye measures 10mm x 8mm. A beautiful ring awaiting the love of its next owner.
