Vintage Keshi Pearl, Coral, and Gold Bead Bracelet
Keshi Pearls are formed in the same oyster that produces salt water Akoya Pearls. Whereas the Akoya Pearl is grown from a seed pearl embedded in the oyster, Keshi Pearls grow spontaneously from the oyster covering a natural irritant with Nacre.
And this is such a pretty and petite Keshi Bracelet. When we saw it we loved it. First, for the composition with Angel Skin Coral and Gold Beading, and secondly for the care given in its stringing. If you look at the joining ends you will see French Wire covering the silk thread. A tell-tale sign that this was treated as a prized piece when strung.
The bracelet measures 7.5 inches in length. Each Keshi measures approximately in the 4mm - 5mm range. The Coral Beads are 3mm each. Clasp and Gold Beads are 14K.
