Antique 18k Akoya Pearls Bracelet
A simply gorgeous Akoya Pearl Bracelet. Bittersweet to be selling - more about that in a second.
This would traditionally be called a "Station" Pearl Bracelet. So called because the Pearls are stationed, or stationary, in a fixed position. Fine craftsmanship is displayed in the assembly of this bracelet. Beautiful Akoya Near-Round and Teardrop Pearls were selected and it was assembled in 18k gold. These pearls match well, but each is unique in shape and color. While predominantly white, there are strong overtones of pink, red, and silver. The 11 pearls have an average diameter of 7mm each. The bracelet measures 7 inches in length.
We acquired this bracelet here on the island of O'ahu from the estate of a prominent family. They were originally acquired by the family in the mid to late 1940s. We mentioned that selling was bittersweet, and it is. This is one of what was a matched pair of bracelets acquired, worn, and stored for many, many years together. Now, however, they will likely part ways.
Both bracelets are 18k. Both have 11 pearls. Both are approximately 7mm pearls. Both are 7 inches in length. The matching bracelet is SKU 23696. Perhaps someone will purchase both - wouldn't that be nice.
