Vintage Large 3-Color Hand Carved Jadeite Crane Medallion Pendant

From an O'ahu Hawai'i Estate comes this vintage natural, untreated, Large Hand Carved Jadeite Medallion set as a pendant. The estates dates this piece to the mid 1950s, and certainly the affixed bail assembly is of that period. The pendant-necklace is in very fine condition without issue.
The natural untreated Jadeite medallion measures approximately 54mm (2.13 inches) in diameter. The front is carved in high relief with three Cranes, symbol of longevity in Chinese culture and mythology. There are three colors present in the Jade: White, Pale Lavender, and Light Green. The back of the medallion is finished in a high polish.
We were told so we note that the 14K Yellow Gold bail assembly was enhanced to add a larger center ring to accommodate a larger chain. Accordingly, the present large and heavy diamond cut rope chain was added, the owner feeling that this 3mm wide chain better compemented the size of the medallion. We completely agree. Together this opulent pairing is no less than stunning. A quality investment piece for the ages.
The 14K Yellow Gold diamond cut rope chain hosting the medallion is 18 inches in length and alone has an impressive weight of 14 grams.
