Vintage 5-Carats Australian Opal Dinner Ring

And sweet this is! Vintage to the late 1940s or early 1950s, this beauty is magnificent by any and all standards of measure. A Big Ring. Really. North to South it measures 15mm and East to West it measures 22mm. Big.
It is fashioned on 3 tiers. On the lower tier are 8 gorgeous natural Australian Lightning Ridge solid Opals with beautiful play of color. The Oval Cabochon Opals each measure approximately 7mm x 4mm x 2.75mm. On the middle tier are 6 Oval Cabochon Opals, each measuring approximately 5mm x 3.5mm x 2mm. The top is crowned by a colorful 3mm x 2mm round cabochon. All together there are 15 Opals with a total weight of approximately 5 Carats.
The setting for the Opals is nothing less than spectacular. A wide and intricately executed foliate design in 14K Gold that is no less than mesmerizing. Quality, quality, quality. Oh, did I say Quality?
This lovely is a size 7.5 (7 1/2) and has an awesome weight of 12 grams.
