Vintage Diamonds and Red Spinel Cluster Ring
Beautiful. Old School Craftsmanship and Gemstone Quality. Rare these days.
This vintage ring dates to the mid to late 1960s. Gemstone composition is Diamond and Red Spinel. Red Spinel has been mistaken for Ruby and Blue Spinel for Sapphire throughout history. In fact, many "Crown Jewels" of European Royalty originally believed to be Ruby or Sapphire have since been identified as Spinel. Make no mistake, Spinel is a very fine Gemstone. And this composition is just stunning.
There are 10 Marquise Cut Spinel and 12 Round Cut Natural Diamonds. All Gems are very eye-clean with minimal inclusions. The Diamonds in particular radiate beautiful brilliance and sparkle. Gemstone selection for this ring tells us that quality was foremost in the maker’s mind.
In all 12 Round Cut Diamonds measuring approximately 2.5mm and weighing approximately One-Half Carat together, and 10 approximately 5mm x 3mm Marquise Cut Red Spinel weighing 1.5 Carats for a total Gemstone weight in this ring of 2 Carats.
Yes, you will love this ring.
This is a smaller ring measuring a size 2.5 (2 1/2) but with its plain shank could be upsized by your jeweler to approximately a size 4 or 4 1/2 if desired. Use the photographs to consult with your jeweler on sizing.
