Antique Green Spinel Oval Cut Solitaire in 18K Yellow Gold
The client estate tells us this ring dates to around the mid-19409s. A beautiful antique ring. First thing to notice is the 8-prong Belcher Setting. Some refer to it as a Buttercup Setting for its resemblance to the Buttercup Flower. But both are old-school settings.
The setting is crafted in 18K Yellow Gold. Beautifully executed with detail which has seen much love through the years yet still has the classic look of a timeless beauty.
The gemstone is a natural Green Spinel. Not often seen, but a lovely, lovely stone. It is Oval Cut and measures approximately 11mm x 7mm. Overall the face of the ring measures 14mm x 10mm. Nice presence. Too, it has substantial weight, tipping the scales at 5.88 grams. It will have a comfortable, and comfortably weighty, feel on the finger.
This lovely is a size 6 and could be sized up-down by your jeweler if needed.
