Antique Victorian 14k Carnelian Cabochon Ring

Carnelian has been used as a gemstone for literally thousands of years, dating back to the Egyptian Pharaohs and likely before. Among other names it is known as "The Sunset Stone" for its Reddish-Orange Color. Many profess that the Carnelian Gem provides a boost to both individual energy and creativity.
This pieces comes to us from a Maui Estate. It is reliably dated to around 1890 to 1900. A beautiful reminder of the craftsmanship of yesteryear.
This Carnelian is a large Cabochon Gem. It measures approximately 22mm x 12mm. It takes up a lot of "finger real-estate." It is set is an elegant, hand-crafted, setting of 14k Yellow Gold. It is a size 6.5 (6 1/2) and the ring has a weight of approximately 5 grams. Lots to love about this beauty.
