Vintage Mid-Century 14K Hand Crafted Reddish-Purple Sapphire Solitaire
We've been in the Jewelry Trade for lots of years, but we're still surprised now and again when encountering something completely unique and unusual. And we love it!
This is an older Vintage piece, nearly Antique. Its styling is Mid-Century Modern and it dates to the early 1950s. Maybe we've just led sheltered lives, but we can honestly say this is the first time we've seen a setting like this. First, it is a 3-Prong Setting. Unusual in itself. But it was clearly hand-crafted to isolate, accent, and promote the beauty of the gemstone - giving it unparalleled exposure for viewing and appreciation. It is a minimalist setting which, again, focuses ones view entirely on the gemstone.
The True Synthetic Sapphire Gemstone is gorgeous - and large. Upon close assessment we found that all attributes of the gemstone - optics, refraction, specific gravity, chemistry, are completely identical to natural Sapphire. In fact, we hope we got this one right classifying it as synthetic because if it were a natural Sapphire the valuation would be through the roof.
The hand crafted setting is 14K Yellow Gold. Being hand crafted it is unmarked, but has been tested to 14K Gold Purity. The Sapphire gemstone measure 12.5mm in diameter and 7mm in depth for a calculated weight of approximately 7.25 Carats. And the color, Oh-My-Gosh, the Reddish Purple Color is gorgeous.
This lovely and very unique ring is a size 5 and has a weight of approximately 3.7 grams.
